WARDOGS Lonestar Faction
The Western paramilitary shirt — same vendor as everyone else, different voices in the stairwell.
Lonestar is the blue team in WARDOGS: official copy calls them the heavy-hitters of the Western paramilitary world. In the live mode that actually ships, they are one of three equal factions fighting for the same 2×2 km Control Zone. This page is for people who locked blue and want to know what that means beyond the loading screen.
If you have not played a match yet, read getting started first. Faction lore will not save a $14,000 tank death.
Who Lonestar is supposed to be
BULKHEAD’s Steam FAQ lines the three contractors up as competing mercenary flags rather than nation-state campaigns. Lonestar reads NATO-adjacent: English radio chatter, Western weapon silhouettes in the marketing, the “blue” callout pubs already use on VOIP. The setting is still Kolchia’s industrial mountains, not a Virginia suburb. You are not playing a US campaign mission. You are playing occupancy.
Starter rifles for Western-aligned spawns in tests sat in the 5.56 family (Bushmaster M17S-class free rifles showed up in catalogues). Treat that as “you can leave spawn without buying a Galil,” not as a unique tech tree. The weapon tier list is shared.
How to play Lonestar specifically
You do not get extra HP. You get teammates who also picked blue. That means:
- Stack with other Lonestar players for ticks. Three-team math will still make you the target when you are ahead.
- Call “blue” only when it helps; from your own POV you need “us on the tower, red on the road.”
- Taxi your own colour. A Lonestar helicopter dumping Valkyra into the Hot Zone is a comedy clip and a thrown tick.
- Type tower digits in your team chat. The other shirts cannot use your sequence even if they hear you yell it on proximity — but they can contest the terminal.
Because the vendor is shared, Lonestar “identity” in pubs often becomes a loadout aesthetic: M4s, Humvees, Little Birds. That is fashion. A Lonestar squad running AK74s and Urals is still Lonestar. Buy from loadouts based on the wallet, not based on a flag.
When to pick Lonestar
- Your friends already queued blue.
- The other two teams are full.
- You want the Western VOIP flavour and you understand that flavour is not a buff.
- You are practising English callouts and the server language lines up.
When not to pick Lonestar: because a streamer said blue “has better guns.” They do not, unless the patch notes say so. Check updates.
Countering Lonestar when you are not them
You will fight blue as Valkyra or Manticore. Same rules as fighting anyone: third-party the leader, deny the Hot Zone, steal towers. If a Lonestar blob is winning, stop duelling Manticore in a side street. Collapse. That is the whole three-team pitch.
Listen for English callouts on proximity. Lonestar pubs in Western peak hours can be loud. Use that. People who talk on open mic while holding a terminal are giving you a free stairwell.
A sample Lonestar life
Buy a replaceable 5.56 from the budget tool, take a seat in a blue Humvee or helicopter, and ask in chat which tower still needs a digit. If nobody answers, you are the taxi and the hacker. After a death, do not revenge-buy an L2A6 because a Valkyra tank killed you — that is how blue wallets die while red still owns the courtyard. Play the census on how to win, then restock.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common WARDOGS questions.
Does Lonestar have better Western guns?
Not in current builds. The vendor is shared. Starter rifles can differ. Rankings are on the weapon tier list.
What colour is Lonestar?
Official posts treat Lonestar as the blue team. Callouts in pubs follow that.
Should I main Lonestar?
Only if you like the fiction or your stack does. You pick every match and can switch if a team has space. See the factions hub.
