WARDOGS System Requirements

Official Steam targets for 1080p Low and 1440p Medium — plus what 100-player destruction actually does to a GPU.

PC System Requirements Specs

WARDOGS is a Windows Unreal Engine 5 shooter with 100-player fights, vehicles, and destructible towns. The Steam store page publishes honest performance notes rather than a vague “it runs.” Read this before you pre-purchase, then confirm the live table on Steam in case BULKHEAD moves a number during Early Access. Pair it with getting started once the box can actually boot the client.

These figures were checked against the English Steam page ahead of the 10 September 2026 Early Access unlock. They can change.

Official minimum (Steam)

PartMinimum
OSWindows 10, 64-bit
CPUIntel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500
RAM16 GB
GPUNvidia GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 590
NetworkBroadband internet
Storage50 GB available space
Target1080p Low at 60 fps upscaled

The upscaler note matters. A 1660 is not being promised native 1080p Ultra in a collapsing foundry. If you dislike upscaling, budget closer to recommended.

PartRecommended
OSWindows 11, 64-bit
CPUIntel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
RAM16 GB
GPUNvidia GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
NetworkBroadband internet
Storage50 GB available space
Target1440p Medium at 70 fps+ native, or 4K Medium at 60 fps+ upscaled

RAM does not jump between tiers. The expensive jump is GPU. If you are upgrading one part for WARDOGS, upgrade the card.

Always online, anti-cheat, and storage headroom

Every mode needs a live connection. There is no offline firing-range career mode you can play on a plane. Easy Anti-Cheat is kernel-level; some machines will fight it. Community beta workarounds included verifying files, deleting the EAC folder in the install directory, deleting %LOCALAPPDATA%\Wardogs, and rebooting. Try Steam’s own tools first. Launch errors, code 1147405308, queues, and the inpoutx64 reboot cluster live on troubleshooting.

50 GB is the store number. Leave extra free space for patches. Early Access that lasts one to two years will not stay at install-day size.

What the 100-player sandbox does to frames

Maps are large and destructible. Helicopters, artillery, and twelve people dumping explosives into one apartment block are the hitch points, not the main menu. Practical settings advice from playtests:

  • Cap fps to something your GPU can hold. A 90–70–90 graph feels like bad controls.
  • Turn down effects and foliage before you turn down view distance so you can still see vehicles approaching the Control Zone.
  • Upscaling (whatever UE5 path the build exposes) is how minimum spec hits the advertised 60.
  • A “Potato” / low preset was discussed in coverage as the 1660 path. Use it without shame; occupancy does not care about your screenshot.

Platforms that are not on the box

  • Windows PC on Steam is the launch platform.
  • Proton / Linux is being worked on; it is not a guarantee.
  • Steam Deck compatibility is listed unknown on the store.
  • Consoles are a “later, maybe” sentence in old FAQs, not a date.
  • Couch two-player play is not a feature. Friends play by joining the same PvP server and the same faction.

Pre-purchase checklist

  1. 16 GB RAM actually free, not 16 GB installed with 14 GB of Chrome.
  2. GPU at or above 1660 / 590, preferably closer to 3070 / 6700 XT if you want native 1440.
  3. 50 GB+ on an SSD. HDD will make the 256 km² world feel broken.
  4. Stable broadband. 100-player occupancy plus VOIP is not a mobile hotspot toy.
  5. Willingness to run EAC.
  6. Read Early Access so you know you are buying a 1–2 year work in progress at $39.99.

If the box is close to minimum, play Closed Beta 02 or wait for the refund window after Early Access rather than panic-buying a new GPU the night before. BULKHEAD has publicly told people to refund if the game is not for them.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common WARDOGS questions.

Can a GTX 1660 run WARDOGS?

Steam's minimum target is 1080p Low at 60 fps with upscaling on a GTX 1660 or RX 590, plus 16 GB RAM. Expect to use low presets when towns start collapsing.
